I have a 2000 Expedition, 4.6L, 39k, Bridgestone Dueler 693 tires.
The stock shocks were lame so I put on Monroe Reflex shocks. At first (before the shocks were broken in) it rode very nice.
Unfortunately, now that the shocks are broken in the vehicle wallows on even moderately rough roads. :-( It tends to bounce as if it is underdamped, with a pronounced bouncing effect from the larger bumps. Uneven bumps left/right really make it wallow, like a big old station wagon with bad shocks. The front is worse than the rear.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Perhaps there are better shock choices?
could be the front, like the idler arms. i had to replace them once on mine or you might just have some faulty shocks. i would try to return the shocks first and see if that is the problem before you look into spending anymore money.
Before you go for another shock, make sure that you have at least a front anti-sway bar. That could be just as important piece of hardware. Maybe tire inflation (over) is a factor too. Just some thoughts.
