Diesel vans are detuned compared to the comparable pickup truck.

I don't know if my stock turbo is smaller than those in the pickup trucks.

Eventually I too want to upgrade to a larger turbo, I was unaware early on and missed the opportunity when my turbo coked up at ~15,000 miles and was changed out under warranty. Would have been a perfect time as the labor would have been free.

I'll stay with the VGT and thereby avoid any trouble codes.
