O.K. here goes. I have a 1994 F350 dually, 7.5l, E4OD, 2wd, with 123k miles. The issue I am having is the truck under acceleration will stutter and hesitate real bad. Feels like half the plug wires have been pulled off. Along with this, sometimes the OD light will flash, but the CEL does not come on.
I have changed the following: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, distributor, IAC, ignition module, and TPS. (I beleive this is everything)
I have also pulled the following codes: KOEO- 212; 624 KOER- 311; 538; 536; and 632. I do realize some codes are from not performing certain procedures during testing.
As mentioned above, the engines hesitates while driving, but if I try to power brake the truck it revs up fine. Also, sometimes while in either park or neutral and you rev the engine it will miss-out also.
212 is your problem I bet... Loss of IDM input to EEC or SPOUT circuit grounded. It's telling you the computer is loosing the signal from the TFI module, so you either have a a wiring problem, a loose or bad spout plug, or a bad TFI module.
I believe I have the plug wires on correctly, but I will double-check.
I haven't found any obstructions with the exhaust. I did forget to mention that I have headers and a flowmaster exhaust.
Within the last two months I installed Motorcraft plugs and Bosch wires.
Timing was checked when new distributor installed last week.

Is the TFI the same as the ignition module? I have replaced it within the last month, and had the new one bench-tested. I have also removed the spout plug and reinstalled with the engine running, just to see if engine speed would change. It did. Where would you start looking for the wiring problem? Any schematics would help.
This morning I double checked my plug wires, checked fuel pressure of both tanks, and removed my exhaust after the "y" pipe.
Engine still misses out while driving. I put the trans. in park to open up the garage door and heard a whining coming from the truck. Shut the truck off. Opened the door on garage. Got back in truck, fired it up, and drove in. I then went to back-up to find I had no reverse.
The OD light is flashing, and I have park and forward gear. Even if the transmission indicator is in reverse, it still goes forward.
Am I correct in assuming my problems are all electronic controlled transmission failure?
When my 94 did that right after I bought it, would not back up but would go forward, needed a new transmission.
No warning of any kind, no studder, no slipping no bad shifts no CEL of any kind. Drove over to my daughters house to look at her car, pulled in the driveway turned it off.
When I got back in it to leave it would not back out of the driveway.
She lived in a old farm house at the time, I made it move, go around the house through the corn field so the tow truck could get at it and my trailer, I think the CEL/OD light did come on when made it go but not until then.
Had it towed to where I bought it, the next day it would move in reverse when cold, once up to temp it wouldn't again, they ended up replacing the transmission.
Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear....
No, not what I wanted to hear, but at least I know what step to do next.
Yea hopefully you fair better then I did and it can be easily repaired.
Pull the codes and see what if anything that tells ya.
I was just glad it happen when it did, took some talking, lots of talking, but I got the tranny replaced at no cost to me. Only had it about 3 weeks at that point, much longer and I'd of ate the repairs.
