need hub help!

i own an 1989 f150 and I am converting from auto to manual warn hubs. I am looking in the chilton's guide and the auto and manual dana axles have different setups as far as locknuts and the like is concerned. My question is, when converting to manual hubs do I need to convert the whole setup to look like the manual one, or do I keep the auto axle setup and just swap in the manual hub. The manual axle picture does not show any locknuts and does not show a hub. Thanks for any advice.

there are 2 locknut setups in there - can u describe what you have now? do you have a nut with tiny pin holes in it and then a keyed washer with a pin thru it, plus a jam nut? or do u got the goofy 'push down while turning' nut that takes a 4wd socket?

going from the outside in have a locknut, then a retainer ring type of thing with a bunch of holes in it, then there is another locknut with a pin on it to grab the retainer. after i take these out i am able to slide out the rotor assembly and access the spindle.
