i was going to bore it anyway. the engine has 175000 miles on it. i was thinking of either a 30 or 60 overbore. the 300 has thicker walls between cylinders so it should not cause any problems with the water jackets

You are definitely going to accomplish the unique aspect then

Down in the classified section of the FTE forums there is a head casting for a ford 300 that is crossflow. Definitely something to look at.

Sounds like an awesome project. Consider starting a thread with pics and blog of your buildup. I'd love to see it.

"i am not looking to do this cheap. it is a PROJECT. i want to experiment with it. no matter what the cost its worth it to me"

Then the questions in your original post are meaningless. After all, it is a PROJECT and it is YOUR project. Experiment until you find out what works and what doesn't work. That is what experimentation is all about. And then post the results...all of them. Those that work and those that do not. Or better yet, write up a paper on the experiment(s) and see if the Forum management will post it in the Tech Section.
