Programer Installaion

I have been utilizing the FTE site for good informaiton for a few months and really appreciate all the good information and input.

I have an '08 FX4 SCrew with Banks CAI, 3" Front End Leveling Kit, Flowmaster SiDo Exhaust, 18" Pro Comp 8188 Wheels and now I am ready to add Rear Air Bag leveling to aid in towing and a programmer to aid in performance. I am considering SCT and Gryphon tuners but my question is how easy is the install of these units?

I did the CAI myself but the leveling kit was done by a professional and the exhasut was a dealer install before I purchased the truck. My knowledge of vehicles and my mechanical aptitude is good but my tools and experience is limited.

Thanks for the help.

We see that you can use a computer so installing a programmer will be easy for you.

how is that programmer working for you? I'm thinking about getting one for my self. Just curious how your truck responded with the programmer. What tunes did you get and what differences did you notice?

thanks

Too early to tell. I literaly received yesterday, installed last night and took a road trip on business today. I do not have any of the custom tunes yet and probably will not for a few weeks. But I got the Gryphon mainly to improve my fuel economy while towing my boat. I will be towing the boat all weekend so I will post my results from the canned tune on Monday. I did manage 17+mpg for 195 miles from Dallas to Oklahoma City today with the cruise on 76 the entire way on the canned transmission tune only. I will say that Corey with PHP was a delight to deal with and I can receomend them based on service alone.

Aw, imagine my delight when I browsed through this thread! Thank you for the kind words, Phil. Word of mouth is our best advertising, and we appreciate it! (Glad you're having fun with the canned tunes while you're waiting for the customs.)

Corey,
You are more than welcome! Based on what I have seen so far I can not wait for my custom tunes! Prior to installing the Gryphon my average fuel economy while towing was 10 mog to 10.5 mpg. Towed the boat from Friday through Sunday with an average fuel economy of 13.3 mpg. That is an impresive increase. Typical highway mog was around 14 to 15. Keep in mind that I keep my foot in the throttle and run about 70 mph while towing. Thanks again!
