Some minor issues

Hello, I have some minor issues with my truck, 1996 f-250 351 4X4.

When I turn hard, particularly a left hand turn, I hear a clunk from the front passenger side. Might this be loose/bad tie rod ends? suspension? The steering does not feel loose.

Also my brakes seem to be sticking. I was getting a sound when driving, so I jacked up each front wheel and they took a little bit of effort to make them spin. I just replaced the front brake pads. Will I need new calipers?

Also when i replace the fuel filter, should/how would i go about relieving pressure in the system?

Thanks,
Will

You could be due for shot bushings by now. If you stand way in front of the truck while someone turns the wheel back & forth, watch for a slight lag in the time between tires change of direction. If tierod bushings ok,tires will simultaneously change direction. If there's a slight lead of one then the other follows..... Tierod bushings are under engineered for there intended purpose and like any runt in a litter, in the twin I beam suspension system, their the first to go. It so gradual the person driving it daily unconsiously adapts to it but nobody else can drive it w/o looking like their 1/2 through their 3rd sixpack. On the brakes sometimes the inner lining of the small rubber hose coming out of the caliper collapses inside and restricts pressure release. their return springs also get all sprung (is that a word?) out or break. I it was me, I'd also flush the system w/regular brake fluid until clear and then replace that w/ synthetic.`On the fuel rail for the injectors there's spring loaded relief valve that looks & works like the valve stem on a tire.

When I change a fuel filter, I usually disconnect the electrical plug from the fuel pump reset switch under the dash. Then I crank the motor for a short while until the pressure is released. You may still get some minimal residual spray when you disconnect the lines from the filter, but it won't be much.

This may or may not be the "accepted" procedure for our trucks, but it's how I've done it for many years now, on everything from Escorts to Rangers to F-150s. And it works.
