I cut the inner splash guard and pushed the bedside out to where I wanted it and where I thought it looked good. I could still roll the inner fender lip.
Yes I Made a couple plates, I guess you could call them, out of 16 Guage metal and tacked them in place to hold them in position. I didn't fill the whole gap so I could reverse it later if needed.
Decided to get a snap of my truck with its freshly mounted semi center caps. Also went with a matte black cap to make the wheel seem alittle more one piece. It looks alittle more finished imo.
Rear is done with DJM hangars and shackles, And a total of 3 leaf springs from each side pulled out( had a 7-8 leafs per side). And the front is cut a 1.5 coils. As soon as I can get some money saved up im going to order some djm beams.
Does anybody ever tow with these lowered trucks. Mine is a swb 74. Going to lower it with Djm beams and shackles. Might use helper air bags in the rear. Going to put a 460 in it. Wanting to pull my 16ft car trailer with my fox mustang or my 64 galaxie with it.
I don't tow with mine. Mine doesn't weigh much, don't know how it would do towing but if you had helper bags and proper rated tires, wheels and brakes I can't see why not.
My '04 F150 is lowered and I tow with it all the time. I do have air bags in it for when I use my car hauler or travel trailer. People that say that lowered trucks can't tow have no idea what they are talking about.
