Cheap/best fix

I have a 1991 F-150 4x4 Lariat reg cab and long box w/302 and auto quad shocks up front(among my fleet 05 expedition,03 explorer and 84 CJ). Somebody slashed all the tires on the F-150 including the spare(30x9.50 terra trac) and I had to put on a set of 33x12.5 TSL's that I had for the jeep to get it back moving. Well I had to cut out the rusted diamond plated mud flaps to squeeze them in the front and they fit fine in the rear. They rub on the radius arms as expected in full turn but overall are not to bad for road use and DD. I had always wanted to lift the truck(4"or 6") and use as recover vehicle and just improve the overall appearence and performance. I know that a body lift is not the best way to lift your truck a specaily for offroad use and performance but the price seems right. I am buying a house in a couple of days and have a 6mon old son who likes to eat so I am looking for cheap but usefull why to either do in stages or wait and save. I have looked at body lifts(3") for this year and have only found kits that have bolts and blocks, nothing for bumper, transfercase shifter or other lines and hose I may need to address, is there a complete kit out there? I have a limited budget right now of about 200-300 dollars max, what should I do? Wait and do it right and drive as is for now, lift with 3"BL for now and add 4" suspension later? Any suggestions?

I say wait and do it right, body lifts look terrible if you don't take care of all the little things and do something to hide the gaps. And besides the lift you will also want a gearing change unless the truck already has 4.10 gears, so costs can add up quickly.

If you are strapped for cash a lift kit is pretty much the last thing you want to do. They always go over budget because there is always "something else" that you need... so x3 on waiting.

i would say wait as well cause a buddy of mine did a BL on his similar truck and did not like it. as mentioned above they are not the best option for anything but added tire clearance. i would wait and save. look on ebay or craigslist for a lift kit, ive seen a lot on ebay for a lot less than at a regular retailer, i got a 130 dollar leveling kit for i think 65 bucks brand new, i think a store was closing. so keep your eye out and you can sure find good deals if your patient.
