...And that's what I want my 300 to sound like.

Why do I only see one tip in your picture?

Oh! I see'em now.

So you do indeed have the exact same setup I did. Do you wax your tips or anything? I haven't had mine for 2 or 3 months in the south and they're starting to rust, even though I use wax - sometimes WD40 on them.

I think maybe the salt water from Ike hurt them. Still, they shouldn't be rusting so quickly should they..?

Maybe it's all in my head. Anyway I love the look of big ole' exhaust tips in front of the rear tire. It's just too loud for my poor ears though.

Here's my dual tips in front of the rear tire; YouTube - 94 F150 FlareSide Walk Around

And here they are behind it; http://i232.photobucket.com/albums/e...y/100_1805.jpg

I think you and I have the same size tips. What size is yours? I think mine are 3.50'' x 18'' or so.

DAMN YOU! thats my dream truck right there...those I6's sound like mini diesels like that straight pipes or what muffler is that cause i want to do the same setup soon

Mine are SS. I have almost the same setup on my F350 and I made it a few years ago, and the tips are still as good as they were when I put em on. I use mothers powerball with some blue stuff that smells like amonia. Works real good. Ill have too look at the bottle when im in my garage.

Thanks man. She's my baby! Believe me, I take good care of her. I plan on running her untill I can't.
The muffler is a Flowmaster Super 44. It doesn't so much muffle as it does mask the raspy sound a 300 makes, and it does add a bit of rumble. Personally, I think I6'd sound best straight piped.

Let me know what the stuff is, if you don't mind. I don't want to be replacing tips every 1.5 years. They're cheap enough, but who wants to go through the hassle? Plus I can probably use the stuff on my toolbox; I just can't get that thing looking good.

Straight-pipe-loud side pipes are unbearably hard on the eardrums, due to the cab resonating the sound. You will regret it if you do that. Before you say that you like loud, let me just spare you the trouble of re-directing your exhaust pipes later on; run'em out the back! It'll still be very loud on the exterior, but comfortable inside the cab.

No way man. $30 will buy you a replacement tail pipe. This means it'll slip right in. If you need extra pipe, Advanced or O'Reily or any automotive place sells piping, with clamps. It's extremely easy to do it yourself. If it wasn't easy, I wouldn't be able to do it.

But hey, let me recommend this; Whatever muffler you get (I've heard a Dynomax on a 300 and I loved it) get the biggest outlet you can for a deeper tone. Then go to your local muffler shop and pick up a replacement tailpipe; they'll have one to fit your muffler (I.E. mine was 2.50''). If you buy a replacement tailpipe from a auto shop it will only come in 2.25''.
