I'm gonna check out the 2-wheel drive truck tomorrow. We'll see how it goes.
A $4,500 dollar savings (depending on how firm the 4x4 owner is on his price...he just lowered it to $13,500) is pretty big right now in our downward trending economy.

4X4 for me...had to many situations with my older 2X4 truck where I'd wished I'd had 4X4....but you need to weight the time driving 8 hrs total and the added $$$$$. For me it would be worth the extra time and money. Plus you'd have no regrets later.
Put a good posi or locker in the 2wd along with a good set of tires and it will work well offroad and in foul weather. I like having my 4X4 but I got along with a 2wd in all kinds of weather for years. It wasn't too long ago when 2wd was the norm.
