bench to buckets?

i was wondering if any one has tried swappin buckets into these trucks, and what fits. i found a set of bronco buckets at the local wrecking yard, the seats themselves are not that great. i am more after the brackets and slider/base assembly. i figure i could bolt them in and get another set of suitable buckets. i am thinking about a set of real nice tan leather eddie bauer power buckets out of a older explorer, not sure of the year but its the squared style body. are these hard to wire in? im gonna try and make everything work like stock, and build a center jump seat with a flip down console seat back. im kinda thinkin make it like an old school king ranch.if anyones got suggestions id love to hear em. i should be getting the seats next saturday. and will start right away, and if anyone is interseted i can takes pictures of how i make it work if i make it work, which one way or another i probably will. thanks

If u get the sliders . U can pit any seat on top of them . I use flat shock bolted to sliders to adapt to seat bolt pattern.

But I'm told some explores vans have same seat pattern.

Other than that just drill the extra holes for bases,(reinforce with large washers) And ur good to go.

I'd be real interested to see the results... Have you got an extended cab? I think that would help you out a lot... Don't think a regular cab truck even has enough room for anything but a bench seat...

Swaped my Bench For L Buckets, I orderd the "Seat Frame" Support from ford and attached them to the frame 5 Minute install. You can use this frame with any Ford Buckets.

so i could order that seat frame support and the explorer seats would bolt right in, sliders and all? cause that really is catchin my attention. how much did that run you? the truck is a regular cab f150 4x4 with a really clean tan interior, but i dont like the big wide bench. i aint a real big guy and when id go muddin or tearing down a rough road in my old truck, i got thrown all overthe bench even strapped in. i feel thebuckets are more suitable to my driving habits, and plus its trick, and just different from the rest of runnin runnin around here. thanks the support, i wont have time to get to the wrecking yard till saturday but ill let you know how it turns out.

thank you very much for the info. i never thought this would gather this much info and attention. now cant wait to complet the swap. i think i will pass on the ford seat frame deal though. im on a decently tight budget and im already stretching it to make this swap. i dont believe the bronco sliders/frames will work either though, cause the explorer seats are all power on the driver side and power lumbar on the passenger. so i believe i will need to work with just them.

i got the seats today. will post pics of them. there outta a 94 explorer eddie bauer. tan leather and mint paid a 100 bucks for the pair, which is a steal as far as i can judge by ebay prices. i did not get the bronco seat tracks. i am worried they will not work. the mounting points look way off floor pan wise. does anyone know if the 87-91 bucket tracks mount to the floor differently? the 92-96 brackets angle forward more sharply, an it doesnt appear i could baseline the seat track in there, with 1 front bolt even cause of mounts appearing this way and more off set.if theyll work, llbuy em for the 40 bucks,if they wont ill wait nd find the proper ones for the older model.thanks ill post seat pictures this evening.
