Control Arm Bushings

I am 16 years old and own a 1978 F150 Ranger XLT LWB with power steering. I have noticed that my control arm bushings (the control arm that the tie rod goes through) are shot. Are these easy to change or should I have it done? P.S. I have air tools

If your tie rod goes through your control arms, you have more than worn busshings. Seriosly though, the control arms are the 2 beams that connect from the front axle to the frame under the doors. I think what you are referring to is the tie rod ends. If so, these are not difficult to change. You will need to order a left and a right replacement end. Might as well replace the ends in the drag link too while you're at it. That's the bar that connects the steering box to the tie rod. Just make sure you make them the same length as the old ones (measure before you take apart) and then have it aligned as soon as possible. BTW, in order to remove the tie rod ends from the steering knuckles, I bang the front of the tie rod hole(on the knuckle, not the tie rod) with a BFH. It usually comes out after 2 or 3 whacks.
