I have a 99 F250 SD 4X4 supercab I'm installing Bilstein shocks on it. I ordered what was listed on several websites for my truck. Fronts went on fine (hint turn the wheels the left to do both sides). Rears I have removed but the Bilsteins have a steel bushing on the top mount that will not allow me to install them. Is the old bushing rusted in place or do I need to remove the Bilstein bushing? The shocks on the truck are the factory shocks with 115,000 miles on them.
You shouldn't have to remove the bushing from the bilsteins from what I recall when installing them on my truck. Are you sure you are installing them the correct way?
Just went out and look at it again. Job complete. Just like my sod laying days GREEN SIDE UP! Boot goes at the bottom in the front and the top in the back! I can't believe I tried to install them upside down in the back. Must have had too much to drink this AM. At least it is done. New tires and new shocks.
Man have tires gone way up in the last two years. Cost me $975 for 4 tires mounted and balanced and front end aligned. GFGoodrich AT KO 285 75 16s.
