I started a thread maybe a month ago about ladder bars. We'll my friend with the same truck as me had a new set in the box never opened, and I he gave em to me since I helped him out on his truck alot.
Anyways, I installed the passenger side one. The drivers side though is what I need your guys opinions on. I need to drill 3 holes in the frame rail for the mounting braket. Well on the drivers side, theres the fuel line, brake line, and all that crap behind the frame where I need to drill.
Undo all the clips holding them, put a piece of 2x4 wood against the frame in front of them, stop drilling when you get wood chips. You might end up with a 1/2 moon of metal at the bottom of the hole from stopping too soon. Put the drill in R, then push hard in the hole to ream out the hole.
Clamp the wood, deep enough to dent it, both sides, so it does not spin.
