Alternator

I know there are a lot of threads about where to buy your alternator. I Also know that if I had the need, I would go to a local shop and have one built, But i dont have the need, why? Because about 3 years ago, I spent $169.00 on a alternator with a lifetime warranty from Autozone. so, I saw my alternator was bad, 20 mins later, no muss, no fuss, new alternator installed..Now if I could only take care of that damn oil leak..

Thought I would share...

Yea you never know. Sometimes they will last forever or a day. Even with the Expensive ones. Didn't know autozone had lifetime alternators. I'll Have to remember that.
Glad they honored you warranty after three years, good to know. That is a long time to hang onto your reciept.. I loose my wallet twice a day.

The autozone warranty is nice, since you only have to walk in and give them your phone number.

Pat, I hope you got the alt. replaced as soon as the battery light came on the first time. When my "lifetime" alternator started acting up, the light would come on, then go off at higher RPM's. I let it do this for 2 1/2 days, and 2 weeks later I was buying 2 new batteries.

Chris, as soon as the battery light came on I drove the 11 miles home, parked the truck until I could come out and look. Thought it was loose connections on the batteries, but found out otherwise. But yeah, You are right, I dont need to be spending 180.00+ on batteries

Jim, If i remember correctly, you already have it..lol
