I am looking for exhaust suggestions for towing. I have the dreaded broken exhaust manifold stud and my exhaust in general is going to need to be replaced. I would like low end improvement if possible and am wondering if headers are the answer? I really love how quiet the V-10 is compared to my previous diesel so would like to keep it quiet. I did use the search function and there is enough there to read all day, no time. What is the most cost effective solution to my needs? Thanks in advance!
P.S. After a season of towing and hauling I am very pleased with the trucks abilities.
No one has a tried and true exhaust recipe for exhaust manifolds back? I looked at Bank$ system and it looks nice but I am sure it is very expensive if it is any thing like their Diesel components.
I have the Thorley headers/y-pipe on my 04' for about a year now. They really woke up the low and mid range of my truck. I went with the Thorley's because they have thicker tubes and were about $250 less than banks. You can get the Thorley's from summit for under $900. The only downside of the Thorley's is they are made of steel and will rust. I go under my truck a few times a year with a wire brush and header paint to keep any rust at bay. I would buy them again as the power gains were worth the money to me.
