Your truck is 31 spline and I believe the Mustang is 28 spline. This is refering to the axle shafts.

A mustang carrier will not work.

There are plenty of traction devices for the 8.8". What are you going to use the truck for?

I have a 1995 F150 with an open 3.55 also. Since the truck has RABS, do I need to find a compatible carrier? I seem to recall a problem with that when I was planning to use a Mustang Trac-Lok in my 91 Ranger. The carrier was different because of the RABS exciter ring. Will the FRPP 31 spline 8.8 Trac-Lok differential (PN M4204F318) fit?

Not to ruin your day, but BuyFordRacing.com has it for $249. I'm not sure what shipping is, but it still might be cheaper.

yeah i saw it, thats where i got my 4.10s. but summit racing is not charging me handling fees so im only paying 10 bucks more. plus the one on summit racing has more specs on what it has which makes me more confident in ordering it and knowing it will fit.

The 8.8 spline count in your truck should be 31.

Oh, and can you let us know how those 4.10s work out for ya? I am really thinking about putting those in. You have a 351W/E4OD right? Thanks man...

Cobra trac-loc's will work as they are 31 spline.... I doubt that 98 is a cobra though. prob. a 28. I have a few 31's with low low miles if ya need one. Shipping is a bee-ouch if ya far.
