Exaust leak somewhere???
My dad just got a good deal on 04(?) EX with 58k and it has been making a whistleing/whining sound coming from the driverside wheel well mostly, from about 5 sec after start up all the way up untill 2k. You can smell exaust gases in the cab at lower RPM's and speeds. It feels like it has no boost untill 2k and then after that it kicks you back in the seat. then at cruising speeds, even under 2k, the noise is gone
At first I thought the the EBV was sticking since it sounded like it was closing to warm up the truck, but then you can smell the exaust. I cant see any soot on the firewall, or anywhere in the engine so Im not sure where to look for an exaust leak... Any thought?
