Well exactly what the title says is my problem. It only started doing this around 500-600 miles ago, and only on downshifting. This is on an M5OD transmission. No i haven't flushed the tranny since i got the truck, about 4 yrs and 15k miles ago. Do you think i should just start with a good transmission flush.
shift forks maybe? the only thing i can think of...but if you havent had it flushed and you dont know when it was last flushed i suggest doing it anyways
shift forks arent overly expensive with that transmission theres 3 of em 1st,2nd 3rd,4th 5th,R i think is how it goes and in canadian mooney you looking at around $70 for 1st,2nd and 75ish for 3rd,4th then $88 for 5th,R
its an easy job...if you got a big enough hole in the floor to get the shift tower out of...but with the transmission already out its like a 30min job
Sounds like 2nd syncromesh is starting to wear. As it`s a manual there is no trans. flush. You just drain the old fluid and fill with new to the filler level. At the very least I would get under and remove the filler plug and see if the fluid is up to the level.

By shift tower i take it you mean the top cap of the tranny. I think if i pull the carpet back i would be able to take a big chunk out of the drivetrain hump in the floorboard.
ya same thing...just unbolts then pulls out...check them out...if you can get through the floor you dont have to drain fluid or anything so you can check em and not have to replace anything or pull the trans. to find that they are good...just look around the inside of the forks for wear
