kevin6,

IF you want a truck that you can do most of the work on yourself & may well outlast you, get yourself a low-mileage, one-owner IDI Ford from the 1980s or early 1990s.

2008 F350 6.4L. First Diesel, should have done sooner, owned for 1 year this month. First Truck was a 1965 F100 then a Ranger and F150, some 'other' brands in between the real trucks

Just got here. I'm on my second F150 (2006 Lariat) with a 2017 Raptor on the way.

Hello Everyone, I am a new rookie on your forum. I just bought a 1966 Ford F100 short bed which was supposed to be junked in Edison , New Jersey. I got it to run, it has a 390 under the hood. This will be my first pick up restoration. I found a bed and ordered wood from Bed Wood and Parts. They sent me an email asking for measurement of where to drill the holes which I have no clue. Do they drill holes on wood or the strips which go between the wood are the ones holding the wood down. Please advise. I looked on YouTube and I don't see anyone drilling holes on the wood. I will appreciate your help. Thank you.

New here, loving the site so far! Lots of useful info/tips I'm getting my old daily driver from back in high school running again, and am turning her into a camper...hopefully! Shes a 1995 Ford Aerostar named Bertha (not the name I gave her, but it fits the van perfectly) 3.0L, RWD, not the extended cabin unfortunately, but I think that I can make this work...after all its paid for. Shes got about 148,000 miles on her and seems to be running well for a 21 year old rig that has been abused by a family of 4, and then a High school student who drove it like it was a 4 wheel drive. Considering using it as my daily driver, and keeping the Mustang parked in the garage until its nice out! Thanks for reading!

New times 2

New here and new to the project truck world, I recently bought a 86 F150 XLT Lariat that is in fairly good condition. I am mostly looking for repair/restore advice and where to buy items for this project of mine. Open to suggestions to those that have already walked this mile, and I hope to learn so as to avoid wasting time and money.

Thanks in advance!
