Old ford guy

Hello all,
I currently have a 1997 F 350 7.3 4x4 CC truck, a 1997 F 250 5.8 4x4, and a 1953 F 800 317 dump.
I have always had ford trucks, I don't mind Chevys or Dodge, heck, I let my wife drive them all the time.

I am a retired Army Nurse, Navy Doc ( FMF), married to same (she is a female)
I love my trucks, but live in the rust belt, and they are getting eaten up with rust.

That's me
Doc Johnson

Heilsa. New to the forums here, looking for advice and suggestions.

Currently exiled in Western Washington. Not really a Ford guy, but it's what my stepdad ran up untill he died, and I inherited them. Have 1998 Ranger, !996 E350-based Four Winds Thor RV, and 1991 Centurion Classic C350.

The C350 has had its 7.3 IDI replaced with a 7.3 Powerstroke, we're finishing up that conversion now. Which is what brings me here, to pick the brains of all the Ford experts who can guide me in getting this thing done as painlessly as possible.

Just another Newby

Good morning,

A quick post to introduce myself. My name is Dan, and I hail from the north land.

I drive daily a 00 F250 with a 7.3 diesel. I also have a 00 F350 with a 6.8 v10.

Bought the F350 because it has a 9' Knapheide service body with a 3200lb crane. Its my rolling toolbox. (I'll post pics later)

I found this site looking for help in replacing the aforementioned v10. Mr-Pipeline has a wonderful thread that I devoured. Thanks and props.

Figured I would join to ask questions as I replace the engine in my service truck.

Greetings 66joej
I recently joined as well. I live in Cranbrook BC and enjoy a 2003 SD 6.0L to pull a Jayco 31.5 5th. Currently investigating an IWE issue. The actuators don"t engage automatically. I rely heavily on the posts of the many talented people on FTE.

Ford trucks are the best!

I'm a new member. I have a 2004 Excursion with a 5.4L engine. I also have a 1985 F250 with a 4.9L inline 6 cylinder. Someday I'll get to ask tech. questions. Hopefully soon because something's about to go wrong.

Thanks,

Glad to be here

Wanted to say hi to everyone. I've always loved Fords. Grew up with my fathers 1976 Ford pickup and it was the first Ford truck that stole my heart. I've always loved older Fords, recently and finally purchased my 1989 Ford F-150. She's a little bit of a rough rider but she's mine. Glad to be here and learn more about my 150 from all of you.

Hello everyone. My name is Dan. This is my first post to a forum of any kind. Not a big fan of computers in general (even though a I use them for work every day), so any advice on forum etiquette would be greatly appreciated! Just getting back into the restoration hobby after being away for awhile. Recently picked up a 1962 F100 step side with a 292. Did a few mustangs in the past, this is my first truck. Very excited about it. Looking forward to all the new friends this project will bring!

Hello, Fellow Ford Truck Enthusiasts!

I'm a new guy here, and I hope that I'm putting this introduction in the right spot. (Apology in advance if I am not) I joined up to tap into the wealth of knowledge lurking around every post on this site.

I've owned several late 70's Fords and Currently am the proud owner of a 1979 F-350 4X4 Regular Cab/Long Bed.

Although I live in central IL, my truck came out of the high desert in the SE corner of the state of Washington. NO RUST!! (Fist Pump) And soon, this old beauty is going to get a full-on restoration. So, I figured I'd better get to know a few of you Subject Matter Experts out there before I tear into the old girl.

So, Howdy.

First Truck

Hey folks,

I'm clearly new to FTE, I'm also new to the truck world. I just recently traded in my 01 PT Cruiser for an 03 F250 KR with the 6.8l V10. I've got a lot to learn but I'm a quick study and work hard.

I did open a thread about my sound system in the proper area earlier today, looking for advice on where to position the subs and amps.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14903475

I've been thinking about some small changes just to give it my own touch. It's pretty common but I was thinking of swapping the grille and the gas tank cover.

I went full synthetic when I swapped the oil out last week.

I'd love to hear any advice you guys have.

Thanks!

Greeting All.

It's good to be here! I need some help trouble shooting an issue with a 2001 F-150. I purchased the truck about 3 months ago. It had not run for the past 4-5 years. I had to get a key made. It was sitting out in the weather, in a forest near the Oregon coast. I got it on a trailer and made it home. It put a new battery in it as it did not have one (for the last few years). I have flushed the fuel system and put a new filter in. Gas is getting to the rule rail just fine. Diagnostics say I have very weak spark. I changed out the coil packs (and plugs).

I get a strong crank and when I shoot some brake cleaner in the intake, it wants to start, but will not start. What should I look at next? Again, I need to find out what the causes are for a weak spark. Thanks for any insight!

Hello All, I'm new here as well. I just got a 95 f150 xlt. Tons of miles. Looking to replace engine. it runs rough, and its slow. I have needed to clean the throttle body twice in three months.. is this due to the engine being old and worn? Looking for rebuild/reman advice. Also considering other engine options that will give me more hp and torque. Any suggestions?
