Greetings,
Tho I have been registered since 2007,I have only surfed the site for information.
I have usually found what I needed , without having to post .
I recently purchased my first super duty, a 99 4x4 supercab short bed,w/v10.
I searched for a couple of years for a particular package, I wanted the 5.4 gas and 5 speed manual trans.and the XLT package.
After putting 568k on my 94 ranger , I found a very nice black (not my first choice of colors) XLT ,with a 5 speed manual and v10.
A bit about me, I am a carpenter, building dams, bridges, and flumes.
Most of the projects we do are related to maintenance or expansion of hydroelectric projects, and other civil projects.
I use my truck for work and pleasure, I pull a Mustang I have built for open track, another for drag racing, and my 4 wheeler sport bike, can am ds650, along with my companion dog and an occasional grand child,of which we have 7.
My wife and I have been married 29 years , with 3 children and 2 step children.

Politically I am a conservative, constitutionalist and believe we are all individually responsible for our actions , and believe in a very small government.
Remember what JFK said "ask not what your country can do for you ,but what you can do for your country".
Enough about me ,as soon as I am able I will post my pictures of my truck.
Ashley.

Check your ECU through the OBD 1 system.

Ok guys I really need some help!!!

I recently bought a 2001 f-350 xl 4 door with the 8 foot box it has the 5.4L triton v8. I was heading to a job up in northern Alberta about 10 hours away from where I live. On the drive I lost control of the truck on some black ice I was doing about 50 miles I went into the ditch but nothing crazy drove right out after. Now my truck won't do over 30 mph the engine starts to sputter and back fire I loose all my power i have no idea what's going on. At idle she revs fine but as soon as I put her into drive it's like she wants to die what can it be?

Welcome to FTE everyone.

Just a quick reminder.....as the title of the thread suggests, this is only a welcome thread for new members and tech questions aren't answered.

If you've got a question, please post it in the correct forum for your vehicle.

New 6.4L 4x4 owner

Glad to be part of this group. I really like rubbing elbows with knowledgable people who love Ford trucks! I love my current diesel and have a lot of big plans for it after my warranty expires.

I have owned mostly Ford's throughout my life:

- 1971 F100; 390 Big, 35" Mickey Thompsons, 4" Rancho Suspension Lift and tons of other goodies

- 1979 Ranger; 302, all stock; ran like nobodies business

- 1986 F-250; 300 Straight 6; Great truck

- 2005 F-150; 5.4L Triton; Great Truck

- 2004 F-350; 6.0L Diesel; Tons of goodies; Great Truck

- 2008 F-350; 6.4L Diesel; I am in Love!

See you around

Just found out how to get it into low range 4wd. Simple, but elusive. Must be in neutral to shift into low range 4wd.

New to Diesel - Old Man

My wife and I recently purchased a 2000 F-350 Super Duty, Lariat. 7.3 diesel with 76,000 miles. Just like new!! I have never owned a diesel and am looking forward to getting some great information on this site. I live in Southeast Arkansas and there are no diesel mechs close to where I live.

New guy in the club, old guy to building cars, trucks and hot rods. Current project is a 58 F250 long bed becoming an F100 short fender side. I've already learned a lot scanning this site, sounds like some knowledgable folks out there.

Hello all, fairly new to this forum, but already been helped by members with a problem. I have a 94 f150. just rebuilt the 300 in it and had some transmission issue which have just been resolved. Love Fords. had a 63 Galaxie 500, a 66 and 67 mustang. all of which have been sold. have a 72 Ranchero with a 302, its pretty rough but once i get this truck looking relatively new, it will be next. Next project for truck will be putting comfortable seating in it. probably or hopefully from an expedition or explorer. Thanks, Tim

New Member '47 Pickup

Hi Guys, I'm a New member and thought I'd introduce you to my "work truck" it's a 1947 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup that I first saw when I was about 10 years old or so (a VERY long time ago). My buddy's dad built this truck in the mid 60's. He was a Chrysler fan and did a very nice job installing a 392 Hemi and pushbutton trans.

I ended up with the truck about 7 or 8 years ago -looking pretty much the same as it did in the 60's - less some bumps & scratches. So naturally I fell in love with this truck some 37 years ago so I have no intentions of changing it's looks! BUT!!!!! I not only drive this thing ALOT but I also use it to tow my Front Engine Dragster. To that end I have upgraded to F150 power disc brakes - 9" ford rear also out of a 70 or 80's Ford truck that I narrowed myself a couple inches -I am a hobby machinist as well. I rebuilt the Iron Torqueflite - it weighs a TON but so far has held up well. Visually the truck looks exactly like the day I got it (a little worn, but cool).

My future plans call for doing SOMETHING about the steering - no power is fine for driving around town, but NOT for backing my dragster trailer up my narrow driveway! Undecided if I'll just put a power box on it or some sort of IFS.

Well that's me and my project.
