NEW MEMBER Introduction Thread (NO TECH QUESTIONS)
New Here
Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it. I'm not much of a mechanic but I do like to know how things work (so I don't get screwed by repair shops). Right now I need to replace ball joints and I think this site will be a definite asset to me. Gunslinger was my call sign in the Air Force as a Firearms Instructor and Armorer. Again, thanks!

Hello to FTE: I have been a member for more than a year but do not recall doing this introduction post. I drove Dodge Ram for 20 years just because of the Cummins under the hood. I have had Ford previously. In the fall of 2017 we were shopping. Pricing on a new truck could not be ignored. We bought a 2017 F250 with 6.7 off the dealer lot. It is and XLT with options to make driving comfortable for a not-retired 68 year old. I live in central Ontario in Canada. Winter driving and diesels are nothing new to me. I like the truck so far. After 1 year I have 54,000 km (@33,000 miles) on it. I appreciate the forum.

Hi -
Just joined. Original owner of '88 f150 Custom Regular Cab 8' box. Replaced it 6 years ago with identical '89 model. The '88 rotted on me. I joined because I kept this truck all these years and plan to keep it much longer. It's winter here in Canada and looking forward to spring!

Hi. New member. I have found a lot of valuable info on this forum and decided to join. Have a funky '59 F350 8' dump truck. Bought it at a yard sale if that gives any indication on condition. Poor old gal was a Los Angeles city vehicle and then bought at auction and passed through two others before me. Cab was smashed at some point by boulders but my neighbor just happened to have a cab and front clip that he gave me to get out of his yard. Hope to have her looking good (from a distance) soon. Posted a mechanical question earlier about same truck. I live in the High Desert of CA and truck is mostly used for hauling blow sand out of my yard and tree trimmings. Hope to one day find a half ton for a Sunday cruiser.

I have a 2001 F250 SD 7.3L with extended cab and 8 foot bed. I bought it in 2005 with only 42,000 miles on it. I have upgraded to heavy duty brakes, Edge with Attitude, 4 inch cat back exhaust and 18 inch wheels with 35/12.50/LT tires, load range E. It is now used mainly to tow our 35 foot 5th wheel trailer for camping. I have always been a Ford man and my first truck was a 1977 F150 Heavy Half Ton with a 525 horse 460 cu hast I built for playing. Laid it to rest after 525.00 miles on the truck and no floors left in the cab. Look forward to future discussions.

Re: Hello Everyone
Hello Everyone Greetings from a very cold Sioux Falls South Dakota. I recently purchased a 2008 F250 Super Duty XLT with the extended cab and it has the 5.4 engine in it, with the automatic transmission. It has done a very high mileage, (250,000), however it is in very good condition, clean underneath and no oil/coolant leaks. I am looking forward to using it and I brought it to replace a very rusty and much older GMC. As you would expect there are a few issues with the vehicle and I am looking forward to being able to ask for advice. Thank you John
2018 F15 5.0 SCREW
My name is Greg Prater.
I purchased a new 2018 SCREW about 10 months ago. I have almost 9000 miles on the truck. I traded a 2017 F150 SCREW with a 2.7 because I needed more payload and towing capacity. I use the new truck for towing a 5000 lb camper and hauling grandkids. I Love the truck, but I have some concerns about the drive train.I have been lurking because of odd behavior from the transmission and auto start/stop feature. I find this site full of useful information.
