Alternator Problem?
We have a 2004 F-450 ambulance package with dual alternators. Recently we have noticed that at start up we are only reading about 7 volts until we get the rpm's up over 1000. Of course this doesn't keep up with the load from our lights, sirens and radio and makes them inoperable. Is this normal behavior or is there something wrong? After getting the rpm's up the voltage remains around 13.5 and runs without problems. Thanks

Definately signs of failing alternators. Have them load tested and if they are bad, go ahead and replace both and both batteries as well. 7v is way to low and could lead to electrical compenent failure. Also check to make sure the belts are tight.
