Fuel Leak, but need to install turbo-back exhaust

I just purchased a 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust system. I plan to cut the old down pipe before the trans support bracket. My question is, I have a slight fuel leak coming from the fuel filter housing, is it safe to use a 4" angle grinder around the residual fuel that seems to be everywhere? If not, whats the best way to clean up the fuel so it is safe to cut the pipe?

Best way is to fix the filter housing wither it be the drain valve or an improper o-ring then take some simple green spray the engine down while it is cold and wash it off with the water hose. Cover the power steering pump 6637 if you have one and the alternator.

Thanks for all the help! I plan o fix the fuel leak this weekend, but I am dying to get that exhaust on. Diesel is less flammable then gasoline...correct?

Correct it is a slow burning fuel instead of a big ignition still I wouldn't take the chance, clean and fix before throwing the sparks. I would hate to see you post back on here with a burnt up motor.
