351W not running right!!!
Ive got a 92 f250 with a 351w. Ive tried timing it according to chiltons and it runs like timing is off. with it timed 10 degree btdc it will idle smoth and then shudder. I mean i can drive it and it will run but it doesnt run right. ive replaced the map sensor and have triple checked timing. check engine light comes on after running for a minute or two. its just driving me nuts. some ideas i havent checked yet but want other opinions on is the iac, tfi. Ive read other forums here but mine sounds like its a little different. thanks.

also about 2 months ago i preasure washed it and it idled high but i figured that was due to water all around. It was running fine before i did a head job and now im having these problems.

strart by cheking codes... and post back wich post you got..

maybe timing chain is worn and have slack.. but engine light is another thing soo chek for codes

sorry it took me so long to get back but ive been custom drilling a bunch of wheat. I came up with codes 28 (VAT sensor out of test range), 32 (EVP circuit below minimum voltage of .24 volts, and 83 (EGR control solenoid circuit failure, low speed fuel pump relay circuit open, high speed electro-drive fan circuit failure). Ive put on a new MAP sensor due to vaccuum line broke off so before i pulled these codes i unhooked the pos. bat. terminal for a minute or two to reset my computer and i think it runs better since. I did take it for a test drive afterwards to try to get whatever codes that come up accurate.
