BD Performance 7.3L Compressor Wheel Upgrade
I just ran across this but can't find any threads on it yet. BD claims "For 7.3L Power Strokes with stock horsepower or mild power upgrades, this is a great upgrade to reduce turbo surge by replacing the compressor wheel on the stock turbo."
Has anyone done this? Does it help? I have a Early 99' PSD w/ the smaller turbo fyi, thx

IIRC the early 99's came with the compressor wheel that BD sells. Ford quit using it as the stock wheel because of the noise.

yep, also known as the Wicked Wheel - every other fin on the wheel is a bit shorter. You'll lose maybe 1-2 psi, but it pretty much cures surge. cheap insurance, or you can just buck up the $1200+ for a new turbo.... GACK!
