I have a 97 F150 supercap 4X2. The truck top speed is about 95mph I would like to know if there is something I can do to increase the top speed. Everyone I talk to say,s that a computer chip wont help the top speed. Can anyone help.

Top speed and engine RPM limits are all controlled by the on-board computer in your truck. Those limits can be changed with the use of a PROM(chip). I recommend Superchips(www.superchips.com).

I have a 99 F150 Supercab 4x4 with the 5.4L engine. The fastest I've ever had it is 132mph, as verified by a GPS in my truck. I'm using a superchip custom tuned for my eaton supercharger. I've also added headers and flowmasters and a K&N air filter. I've changed the plugs, the fuel rails, the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel pump. This truck blows Lightnings away without breaking a sweat. It's been dyno tested twice: one said 412 the other 423. The point is this: all that I did would have been useless, practically, if I could not have changed some of the engine dynamics, which is what the superchip does. Superchips makes a kickass product and can custom tune as well.
