What the hell is that ?

There is a "bolt" sticking out of the back of the high pressure oil pump. . .some kinda magnetic looking piece that slips on it . . . . . then a strange washer/spacer . . . . . and then a really cheap nut holding the whole contraption together ! !

What is all that ?

The nut slipped off while I was driving and im not sure how it all goes back onto the bolt . . in what order.

Im not getting a code though.

Well, ill give it a try. IF you can figure out which direction the solenoid goes on ( should be fairly easy), just slide the hat looking thing with the flat side towards the solenoid. Then the nut should fit over that piece and tighten it on as well.

It might run, but not very well. Should throw a code though... is this accompanied by a big oil leak?

Oh yes. . .I noticed it because the stainless braided line blew and there was oil everywhere . . and then I saw that it was off as well. The line looked like it blew because it was rubbing / touching another line while it was running.

So does oil leak there if it isnt bolted down properly ? It didnt look like there were any seals or anything on that piece . . . . but when the line blew there was oil everywhere and I couldnt tell where it was comming from other than the line.

I assume that if the IPR comes out of its hole oil will come out also, I've never messed with the HPOP though so I can't say for certain. Bottom line, you need to fix or replace that IPR.

Hey man. . thanks alot for the pics and the help. I think I should be able to repeat that on the truck.

Its just strange how this thing actually works. It doesnt seem to "plug" a hole or anything. It just slides onto that bolt and "butts" up against the outside of the HPOP . . . . really doesnt LOOK like it could do anything where it is sitting !

That is because the valve part is the part in the HPOP that actually does the work. It stays on because of the 29mm nut holding it on. The solenoid is the part that fell off on yours because the nut came off. The nut is an (18mm or 3/4) that fell off yours.

Actually . . . the more I look at those pics. . . looks like the IPR connector is facing one way in one picture and another way in the second picture ?!?

Im sure it probably should be facing out though ! ?
