08 Steering ?

I recently purchased a 08 F150, it has the 20inch tires on it. Was wondering if anyone else thinks theirs wanders alittle. Or maybe to much free play in steering. Compared to the 05 I had this truck drives alot different, I think in a bad way. Dealer looked at it and could find nothing wrong. Thanks

My dad drove an '08 to deliver it to another dealer, and he said the steering in it was terrible too, way too much play in the wheel. My '07, on the other hand, is as tight as any vehicle I've driven, so I wonder if they had a sloppy batch of rack and pinions or something.

My 08 has 18 inch BFG's on it and it steers just the same as my 06 with 17 inch hankooks. Both are/were XLT's Scabs

Mine is 2x4 Hankooks, steering is very good. It is very sensitive to changes in the road, but not at all loose or sloppy.

Replaced 4 tires and adjusted toe in and the truck is 100% better. Now it drives and handles like it should.

Maybe it was because of the heavy over weight polaris you have in the back.Should have bought a ski-doo.

How are the Hankook tires overall? My last F-150 had Generals.

Bingo on the toe!

These trucks have rack and pinion steering which is way better than the old drag link set ups.

If you put bigger tires or leveling kits on you need to have the alignment checked.

My Hankooks so far are good. However, I will replace the rears with a little more winter tire before the snow arrives.
