engine swap
what to do.. I have a 83 F250 4x4 with 460 that needs straight 50 weight to run (guessing that the oil pump is going south) the heads were redone in the recent past but still would like to go through them again when I'm redoing the rest of the engine.. OR
swap from my cousins 78 F250 2x4 that has a fresh rebuild 351M into my 83.. I've heard that it will bolt straight into it, maybe a few mods needed.. what to do what to do..

Same bell pattern. Accessories, cooling, exhaust, linkages will need adjust/swap/mod.
Did he build the 351m back into the stock "powerhouse" it came out of the factory as? Or did he fix the cam timing and compression? Done "right", if you can live with the power level vs. what your 460 would offer, probably an ok swap.
