Generic sway bar question

My bushings on the rear sway bar are shot on both sides. I want to remove the rear sway bar & sway bar links to work on them. Can this be done safley with the truck on the ground, or does it need to be lifted up by the frame?

Also, are rear sway bars axle-dependent? Would it fit with a 10.25 axle and matching leafs?

Sorry if this has been asked before, search is still broken...

Generic sway bar question

Installing a sway bar can and SHOULD be done on the ground with the suspension at its normal height. More likely to work when installed. On a re-install, bracket locations are already determined so it's not as critical. You won't need jackstands, but they do provide a lot more working room.
