Been away from my F250s for awhile and will be picking up a Ranger soon. It's a '77 and I need some help decoding the door plate.
The best I can make it out:

Thanks in advance if you can help.
It's a 1977 F250 Ranger XLT
V8 gas
4 speed manual shift
4X4
Lockout hubs
Two tone green exterior (repainted?)
Sits tall like a HiBoy - appears factory without mods
I am now in the market for a factory repair manual for my "soon to get '77 F250 4x4", keeping an eye on ebay and will be checking the manual traders at the Good Guys swap meet in Pleasanton next month. Xmas is coming early this year for this big/old kid. I had a '76 HighBoy for a brief time in 2000 and loved it. I stopped by and looked my '77 over briefly but it was covered in tarps, rotten apples, and the bed filled with trash. In other words I am not sure what I am getting until a weeek or so when I unburry it.
In the mean time I'll have a few questions and have ALWAYs appreciated this forum. Although the VIN decoded the pickup as a 351M, I am suspecting that it actually might be a 390. I'll know more in a week or two once I get the Ranger home, but has anyone ever heard of Ford putting a 390 in a 1977 F250Ranger XLT? Is that possible that a 1977 F250 Ranger XLT came from the factory with a 390 ???
Fired it up today after sitting 6 months. Still don't have it yet but will be hopefully getting it home in a week or so. Had to roll in the rotten apples to figure out why it wouldn't start. Unfortunately caught the carb on fire twice. Finally after checking the lines determined the pump was either defective or just dry. Slowly put about a pint of gas down the line into the fuel pump, let it sit for a few minutes, and vroom. I had already resigned to heading to NAPA tomorrow for a new fuel pump but I'll hold off now.
