hey guys does anyone know where to find a stock wheel cross reference for wheels to fit my 52 f1 I want to search the scrap yard and need a list of donor trucks the f1 bolt pattern is 5 on 5 and a half thanx
Hollander Interchange is your best cross reference. Honestly, you've got so many options on wheels it's impossible to list them all. Ford used the 5 on 5.5 pattern for decades clean up to the time they switched to metric in the '90s. Looking through my Hollander manuals shows that IH used that pattern, early Chrysler Imperials used it, and early Jeeps used it too. Stu
Ford used the 5x5.5 pattern from 28-48 on cars and on full sized pickups and vans from 28 through the 80s and some in the 90s. Mercury used it from 39-51, Chrysler Imperial 54-66, and the American Motors Jeeps (5 lug) 42-86. Also AM Eagle, Cherokee, and Cherokee Chief from 42-86. The newer Dodge trucks are also using this pattern. My 2005 Dakota has 5x5.5 pattern but the wheels have a LOT of backspace and require a spacer to mount them on an older truck.
Sounds like the voice of experience talking! Did you get any pictures?
No pictures. It was a temporary situation. Two of my original tires went flat and I put the Dakota wheels on a stock 49 just until I could get the tires patched. I had to use a spacer to get them to bolt on. They were 8x16 inch steel wheels and looked okay but not something I'd want to keep on it...too modern looking for me.
