1997 F150 - Error Codes
I've got a Check Engine Light that stays on and the Speedo fluctuates violently or doesn't work at all below 35mph.
I suspect the Vehicle Speed Sensor but would like to get the codes from the computer.
Does anyone know how to retrieve the error codes from the vehicles computer system? I've searched the archives here but nothing matches.
I seem to remember a method using a pair of jumper wires in the port, but cannot find the information again.

OBD11 Systems like yours require a Scanner to read codes. You can not jumper connections any more. Sorry. I've heard of some not too expensive code readers that someone here should be able tell you about. The one I use cost over $1000.
