I am in the process of purchasing a set of swampers. Which is better for daily driving and mudding occasionally, the thornbirds or the tsl radials? Which ones ride better and wear better?
super swampers... good choice. in my opinion i would go with the TSLs. they look cooler and perform a lot better in the mud. the thornbirds are a good tire, but more like an all terrain tire with aggresive looks. i hear they dont do that well in mud. go with the TSL. as long as you keep the proper air preasure in them and keep em ballanced they shou;ld last a while.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Dec-02 AT 09:30 PM (EST)]i went wheeling with a guy that had 35 trexus and he was able to go just about everywhere i went with my very bald 38 tsl. look up Chuck P. in the members galleries i think he has pics of his truck with them on. i am running tsl/sx and love them on my truck. they are a little rouph until you get the flat spots out of them after the truck has sat for a few days but they smooth out. and not too bad of a ride. i dont know anyone with radials though.

Go with the TSL radials over the thornbirds. The TLS radials will ride way better and last longer. Which Trxus tire are you referring to? The mud terrain or the STS all terrain? The new Trxus STS radial is a smoother ride than the TSL swamper due to the tread pattern. The Trxus mud will ride about the same as the TSL swamper.
just a guess but how many miles would you guys think someone could get out of a set of tsl radials? i know there are lots of factors like highway driving and stuff but anyone have any experience or guesses?
I have 35" TSL SX's and I have 38,000 miles on them. I also have them on a 3/4 ton truck that does quite a bit of hauling and a lot of highway driving. I love them and would really like a new set. The only better tire offroad, (in my opinion) is the bogger but I wouldn't want to have to drive it at 70mph. on the highway.
