I'm have a annoying issue with my factory navigation HU. I have a 04 Screw and I purchased a navigation deck from ebay. I installed it and for the most part it does work good. Sometimes though the navigation will get out of synch and have my location incorrect on the map. i'm not talking a few miles either. Its like 40-50 miles sometimes.
When I installed the deck I made sure to put the navigation antennae in the provided slot on the bar behind the radio. The block portion of the antennae I mounted lower using the provided 3m tape.
Shoulded I remove the little block that the antennae is connected to higher? Is there any buttons I can press to make the map home in on my correct location.
This is starting to get alittle annoying if anyone has any info please respond.
+1. I don't have your setup, but how would the antenna work if it doesn't have a clear view of the sky (behind the radio sounds like it's inside the dash???)?
Try putting it up on your dash to test the signal strength.
I know when my nav antenna died on my AVIC that it would put me far away on the map from where I was, sometimes in another state.

I went and moved the gps antennae higher on the dash. When I did it the map still looked the same. I also noticed the little gps box with a red line through it too.
So I removed the radio once more and jiggled the antennae connection to the radio. When I did this the map corrected itself and the gps box with the red line through was gone. So it looks like I had a bad connection to the back of the radio with the antennae.
