Hey all.....Just did an EGR delete using the liberator kit last weekend. I think i goofed and cracked my Y-Pipe when i was putting everything back together. (getting strong diesel odor in cab at idle and sorta goes away while driving....but chokes me out when stopped) I'll check all my connections and make sure everything is how it's supposed to be once again. but if it is the y-pipe...can a guy weld it or is it made of some thing that an average welder can't touch. How much for a new y-pipe if i can't weld it? Thanks in advance guys!
thanks rollerstud yeah i was hoping for the best but looks as though everything is hooked up fine and snug.....i can't get a good look at the y-pipe without taking off the turbo again.....sounds like a project for next weekend
I did a self cooler delete out of the existing cooler and about 1 month to 2 months after my exhaust broke at the flexible piece on the up pipe that used to connect to the cooler. I just got a short section of pipe and welded it in place of the flex piece. I believe that having two flex pieces on one side of the exhaust makes it weak when there is no support from the egr cooler connection.
