Really, it would vary in cost by who makes it. Rancho, skyjacker, Superlift, Rough Country? Which would you prefer. It could be 600-900 dollars for a 4" lift. Then, even though 4 inch's isnt too extreme, you would probably want to consider new rear end gears to make up for the bigger tires you would be using. For a 4" lift, I would say 35 or 36 inch tires would be fine to put on there. Depending on what brand/style of tire you got the cost for the tires could be quite high, looking at maybe a grand for some super swampers. Or if you just want regular radial street tires 35 inch high, it would be a couple hundred. Then you have to think altercations to your driveshaft and such. Like I said 4" isnt extreme, but it may not be a bad idea to think about changes to your driveshaft to make up for the new angle it would be on, or else you could be looking at blown u joints left and right. Just look through different sites for your truck and get a idea of which lift you would like to use. Skyjacker and Rough Country are the 2 top lifts that come to my mind.
Holy Crap is right, where is the elevator to get up in that thing? 30" lift with 54" tires?
There is a guy on the Super Duty and Heavy Duty Thread that has a 2000 F-350 with a 24" lift going for 32" lift. The post name is Monster Truck, its a nice ride.
well the 6" springs run $220 each for the front not sure on the rear though there were no prices I just bought a 1990 F350 4x4 crew cab longbed with a 7.3l idi in it and am gonna call them this week fora 10-16" lift i wanna be able to run around 38.5 up to 40 with minimal to moderate fender trimming I dont want to have the butchered look.
Yeah I looked at one today that had a 6" lift that cleared 38's with no problem I am used to Chevy where u gotta jack way up and butcher the fenders alot.
So I called the Custom Suspensinon left them a message with all my info. Someone mentioned that I may have to replace my drive shafts, how much and where should I get them from
i bought stuff from these two topguncustomz.com and rockymountainsusp.com they have good prices on lifts and are great people to deal with. On this model truck i would stick to skyjacker or superlift springs they seem to hold up and ride very well and procomp makes good lifts also
UT that second truck that you said was on ebay?? i think he lives around here, ive seen a truck just like that runnin around close to my house. if not there is one.... actually several trucks that tal an taller round here. its reeeediculous.
dre there is a place in Orlando where i live that custom make them I'll try to find the number tomorrow night when i get off work they are really good. some problems though with one piece long shafts is they start to act like a whip so u need to go large diameter and a thick wall tubing on the shaft for a long wheel base truck mine is 5.5 diameter 3/8 thick. but i run a two piece rear I am just gonna lower my carrier bearing assembly when i Lift mine I was also quoted about 300-400 depending on the ujoints That i decide to go with. I had a 78 bronco with military's under a while back that we got a set of concrete truck drive shafts and modified them to fit but that would be so over kill on a moderate 4" lift but would be bomb proof.
I mean I live in Miami, Fl where most of my 4x4 days are done on muddy Everglades, but I'd definitely would like to make sure that I am not going to have an axle snap on me while on a date or anything like that you know. Bigtruckkpl let me know what you find out for me I'm only 4hrs from Orlando anyways and I am overdue for a visit with my parole officer Mickey. lol
The place is called Advanced Driveline
there number is 407-299-1100 also if u get one and cant make it up I'm in Miami atleast once a week for work might be able to pick it up and deliver it to you. Also do you ever go wheeling at Lcross its up by okechobee the town on hwy 78 thats the next place i wanna hit and play at
