How to test engine temperature switch/Glow Plug resistance

How to test engine temperature switch/Glow Plug resistance

Is there a way to test the engine temperature switch? It looks like a bitch to get out and I dont want to go throught he trouble of changing it if its not bad.I tested my GPs tonight with an OHM meter.They were all .001 some were 0. I put the red lead on the bullet connector end and the other end on the hex part.Truck is a1992 Ford F350 7.3.When I used the test light on them they all lit up

Cold engine switch closed.
Power to all three wires on the IP when the ignition switch is on.

At 112 degrees, the switch opens and no power to the fast idle solenoid or timing advance solenoid.

That switch has nothing to do with the glow plugs.

And those ohm readings are to low, should be .5 to 1 ohm.

Does it mean they are burnt out?
Would you happen to know a part number? I replaced them last March from Ford. I find that strange also.
Why would they do that?

So with the key on the switch is closed ant there is powere to all three wires that go to the IP.

If the light test worked ....99% they are good.

""So with the key on the switch is closed and there is power to all three wires that go to the IP. ""ONLY if the engine temp is below 112*F if the engine is hot then only the FSS is live..... Fuel Shutoff Switch..... front drivers side spade connector on IP.

.5 to 1 ohm is very close to a dead short.

It takes a good ohm meter to read the resistance that close to a short (0 ohms).
