Data plate info
Where can I find a place to decode the data plate info on these old trucks?
Right now I am looking for axle I.D. info.
I have a 57 F100 with axle code 01
59 F100 with axle code 02
Any help on ratios would be appreciated and a source to look up this info would be great also.

There is a decoder here on FTE. I'm not quite sure how to navigate there. Maybe do a search and type in "VIN Decoder."
The guy to talk to about parts and numbers is Bill alias "Number Dummy. " He's been uncharasteristically silent for the past few days...... He'll have an answer for you for sure.

I appreciate the replys.
I really should get a shop manual but was hoping to find a resource on the net to find the info.
Would be a good resource to use when looking at a vehicle and wanting to find more info on it but not something you would want to but specific literature for.
I ran the ser# through the decoder on the site but there is a lot of info on the data plate that it does not decode.
