How The Circuit Works
With the Ignition Switch in ACC or RUN, voltage is applied through Fuse 11 to operate the Radio.
Fuse 8 applies voltage to the Radio at all times to power the memory-related functions, which retain the memory portions with the Radio turned off.
Panel dimming is controlled by the instrument panel dimming switch in the Main Light Switch. A variable voltage is applied through the 19 (LB/R) wire to control the brightness of the panel lamps.
The display's brightness is controlled by the Main Light Switch. When the park lamps are turned on, battery voltage is applied to the Radio and the display dims.
Remote Headphone Option
The Remote Headphone Module provides two audio outputs for headphones. In addition to controlling headphone volume, the Module commands the Radio to seek up and seek down. The Module also sequentially selects the preset stations in memory by grounding the 368 (R/BK), 370 (O/BK) or 372 (BR/O) wire.
The Remote Headphone Module also turns off the Rear Liftgate Speakers and/or Door Speakers by controlling the 806 (PK/LB) wire (right side) or the 807 (PK/LG) wire (left side) to the speakers.
Graphic Equalizer and Amplifier
The Graphic Equalizer receives power from the Radio on the 829 (W/P) circuit. The Amplifier receives power from the 137 (Y/BK) circuit. The 829 (W/P) circuit switches the Amplifier on when the Radio is operating. Left and right channel sound information is sent through the Graphic Equalizer and Amplifier to the Speakers.
