We had storms way back in the 40's & 50's that didn't disrupt supplies!!!!!
But to cut shippng costs & increase efficiency, building refineries close to where you pump the bulk of your crude, makes business sense, storms or not.
This isn't like you can't get the product at all, just that supplies might be a little tight for a month or two, no big deal, if we can't get Mobil-1, just opt for Texaco, Chevron, or some other brand & don't hyperventilate, our engines won't self destruct!!!! lol
