I'm wondering a few things about cellphones -- these are general questions
not any specific problems.
1. Given that on my flip phone, there are so many features that they
put buttons on the sides (kind of ruins the flip phone idea).
- How many of your cell phone features do you use?
I talk on mine, I did record a ringtone ( me repeating a word, really all I want), and I have taken a few pics when I didn't have my camera.
Oh, and voicemail is OK. But, I'd really happier with a simpler phone with larger buttons. ( I do wear a bluetooth deal, but only because I can't hear the #$%^ otherwise)
2.- Do you web on your phone?
Just doesn't seem reasonable -- even with the iphone
3. Do you have/crave the iphone and/or the Google competitor? (and why if you'd like)
4. Is the new iphone 3G important to you?
(again why)
Except for text messaging, the only thing I use my phone for is making calls. Dont have the 'net, its just too slow and expensive. i'm not a huge fan of touch screens so dont want an iphone, but I do like the ones with a full key board.
What is important to me with a cell phone is the ability to connect and hang on to a signal, even if it's just a weak signal.
I have the phone to make calls and take calls from people I have given the number to. I pick the phone that based on others reports, grabs and keeps a signal, even in tough areas. All the rest of a phones abilities and just fluff and I don't need em. Hard to get just a basic "make a call phone" anymore though.
The only time I found the camera was any good is when doing price matching between stores. You can take a pic of the price in Target and take it to Circuit City to get price match plus something like 10%.
I have a Samsung sync that is a year old and it is a mp3 player, video cam, and has a bunch of other things that I don't know how to use. I needed a phone last year that I could use overseas and it had to be a Quad band phone and thats why I have it.I haven't used my phone for anything other then talking and taken a few photos,my wife even got me a sweet pair of bluetooth headphones but I never figured out how to load music off the pc to it.
I would rather have a phone with larger buttons and hold a good signal myself then all the other crap thats on it.
shiney new phone, same crappy service.
I have used the camera at some screwed up jobsites, or when I see something crazy traveling down the road.
I hate text messaging, but am slowly being assimilated into that culture
i could give a damn about the buttons,
I want a phone that never drops a call and is crystal clear. We put man on the moon almost 40 years ago, and today, I cant call my neighbor with clarity.
VZW has the commercials showcaseing their network....
I have a new Motorola phone that's pretty cool even though I only use it when I have to. I carry it with me whenever I go anywhere, if I remember to take it. The only feature it has that I like is the camera but I use my Nikon mostly.
I wouldn't have this one now if my other phone hadn't got run through the washer and dryer.
I text all the time, I use the web browser, mainly for looking up business's addresses and numbers, I use the camera on mine all the time (I always have it with me, so its nice to always have a camera along) I use the calender, and the voice reminder thingy. Lastly I use the calculator quite abit on it.
I find that I dont use everything, but I do use alot. I have songs loaded on my phone but never listen to them.
I've got a Samsung model SCH-u550 and I love it. Hell the phone takes nicer pictures then my digital camera, it records pretty decent quality videos too. The phone has a microSD memory card slot, I've got a 2 gig memory card in there for transferring photos, videos, and mp3s from the phone to my computer and vice-versa. I've got about 200 mp3s saved on the phone, I listen to them on the stereo in my truck via a micro rca cable from the phone to the cd player aux input. I no longer need a house phone, digital camera, video camera, or mp3 player, this one little "phone" does it all and it fits nicely in ones pocket.
I never use to text at all but I've gotten into that now. Instead of calling my girl and hearing her go on and on about crap I could care less about I just shoot her a text and get a answer back. They only allow 160 characters in a text message, kinda limits the amount of yakking one can do. I'd much rather spend 5 or 10 minutes exchanging a couple texts then holding the phone to the side of my head for a hour or two.
I use to be one of those people who said they'd never get into cellphones, oh I only need one for emergencies I use to say. Well that all changed, I'd be lost without the damn thing now.
