A friend and I were talking about my 7.3 Med kit tonight at our diesel club meeting, so I thought I would take a couple of pics and take inventory of what is inside.
This old saws-all box fits quite nicely behind my back seat.
Inside the box I have the following.
Fuel filter, Extra fuel filter gasket, Quik solder radiator repair, 1" deep socket, 2 CPS one from Ford one from International, Napa Sil-Glyde, Blue RTV Silicone, Electric tune-up grease, Blue thread locker, O-rings for fuel filter drain valve, Test light, Wire crimp tool, Various electric connectors, spade , butt, ring, in-line fuses, Wire, different gauges and colors, Small tube cutter and flare tool, 2 rolls of teflon tape, 2 rolls black electrical tape, Punch, 4 way screwdriver, mini phillups and standard, Jumper wire w/ alligator clips both ends, 3 different sizes of zip ties, Oil filter wrench, 1/2" breaker bar, fan belt, Brake lamps & running lamps, Felt tip pen & ink pen, Note pad, Various nuts bolt and plugs, Aux power adapter with 3 plugins.
Yes that is a very nice and well put together repair kit. It will help keep you on the road in an emergency. I would also keep a coupole of flares in the truck just in case. I have a pack of flares I found that work and a half empty fire extinguisher thanks to a friend asking if it's full after he shot it.
He has bulbs listed and I'm sure he has tape somewhere. He failed to list his serp belt I can see in the pic. That can be a biggie. He has that covered.
I hate to be insulting but when was the last time anyone checked the spare? The jack? Even worse, whether they have the special key lug that allows you to lower the spare? Fortunately I had all of that in order when I had a blowout but the spare needed about 20#s. Check it out when you get a chance. Good post.
I started making the 7.3 Med kit before my trip to Mexico a couple of years ago and have been adding things ever since. I have my hand tools in my tool box in the bed of the truck, and yes I have DUCT tape and a roll of baling wire in there ! You guys kill me sometimes . I have two fire extinguishers, one on each side under the rear seat.
Mike makes a good point about your tire and the equipment to change it. Check it out! And if the better half drives the rig make sure they know how to use it!
I check my spare, and all the tire pressures, every time I rotate the tires. I also keep a tire repair kit and small air compressor with me, just in case.
That has to be the most comprehensive emergeny kit I have ever seen! Nice job. May want to add a jug of coolant, in case you have to refill after taking upper hose loose to do belt change.

Not to nit pick but he did list the serp belt. He called it a fan belt is all. lol Good call on the spare. Very easy to forget about under there
Dang, your "emergency" tool kit is better stocked than my toolbox at home! You need a tow strap in there too for helping the Dodges when they break down.

Thanks! I store my tow strap under my tool box in the bed along with my jumpercables, high-lift jack and two cumalongs.

My 99 came stock with the hose that goes around the serpentine belt so I don't have to take the hose off when then serpentine belt needs to come off. The part number for the hose is F81Z-8360-CA if ya want to change it out next time your under the hood for some maintenence. Good reminder though for those who have'nt done that mod yet!
