I need some help downloading tunes off of Spartans archives. I have the files I want saved to the computer all the stuff installed but dont remember what to do!!!! It been almost 2 years since my dad and I have messed with it. Could some one give me a step by step or any info. Thanks
I have the software on the computer. When I try the live load it says loopback failed. It doesnt seem to recognize the ll3 files either. I am pretty computer illiterate so this stuff gets frustrating to say the least. Thanks. Any more pointers? Also this is a different computer than we last used so could that have somthing to do with it?
Do you have the tuner plugged in before you start the software? Is the tuner on the main menu? Using a different computer shouldn't matter. You may also need to install the device drivers for the SCT. These can be found here: ( http://www.sctflash.com/software/XCal2_Drivers. exe remove the space.)
Thanks Riggz. Got the drivers installed now every thing looks right but when I go to install it says ( not valid ll3 file) pulled them of the site and the are for the right engine code. Took the old programs off the tuner. I dont know what im doing wrong!!! This is frustrating. Thanks for your help just need a little more.
Try a diff USB port on your computer, a different USB cable. The SCT should light up when you plug it in to your computer. Did you turn off your antivirus when you downloaded? Try disabling Antivirus and download again and do not change the file name. the extension should stay .ll3 (LiveLink file). You might just downloaad one to your desktop first then upload it to the SCT from there (assuming you have a connection that is good from computer to SCT via USB. Gluck..
Ok Im still getting the invalid ll3 file thing pop up. Tried a different port, my girlfriends lap top, turing of the anti-virus and im still getting it. On the live load screen I go to browse find the tune I want then I go to add file and the invalid ll3 file pops up instantly. I doesnt try to load or read it, just pops up as soon as I hit the button. I dont know what to do. Please give me some more help!!!! Thanks again
Have you tried downloading the tunes with the anti-virus off? If the file was downloaded with it on it may have lost a few bits/bytes. Which files are you trying to download?
You can also call SCT's support line and they might be able to diagnose your problem better. 407.774.2447
I turned the antivirus off. still not working. Im trying to get the agg.tow with engine brake, max econo, agg. street econo. When the file name comes up in the the browse part of the liveload its pretty long, the add file says 15 characters is there somthing wrong with that? I just want to feel the power again, its been over a year!
Lets confirm that you have the FORD branded SCT Xcalibrator 2 and not a GM or DCX. Also confirm that it is not a SCT Flash.
When you have the unit plugged in, can you check the firmware version? I think it should be v1.14.
After all that has been confirmed, try re-installing the Live Load software. Then right click and save the files as... to your desktop. Then try to load them into Live Load again.
It is an '03 it got reflashed in march. I returned the truck to stock before it went in. I got the programmer from Matt when he was with LIPD. It had his custom tunes on it. Device is unlocked. It is v1.14. It says strategy flash device on the programmer and the box is an Xcal2. I remember asking about that when I got it and he said it didnt make a difference ( 2 years ago). Sorry to be a pain in the *** but it sucks having the Sct and not being able to use it. I tried to contact Spartan since march to get everything straightened out but no help. So i found out they had the archive and thought I would give it a try, with no luck so far. Thanks again guys
