Question Tires and wheels

Can smaller diameter wheels be mounted on late model F150's? I need some mud tires for hunting but $250+ per tire because it's an 18 inch rim isn't practical or affordable.

17" rim is the smallest you can go. I would also look at a 20" rim. for some reason the 20" tires are cheaper as well

welcome to the new reality of owning a truck nowadays. I've been paying $200-300 a tire for many years now

Thanks for the reply. I was reading through some other posts on the same subject and I didn't even think about the size of the brake rotors. I had a 98 Expy 4X4 with 17 inch rims and found some Dunlop mud tires on sale for $120. So, there is a difference in price even at the 17 inch. Not only is the price for 18's outragous, the variety is scarce too.

Thanks again!

just remember 2 things

1. cheaper tires are almost 99% of the time a "P" rated tire. those things do not belong on a truck

2. if it is a cheap LT rated tire, you get what you pay for. Dunlop tires rank just slightly above the General brand tires. Pure crap in my opinion. I had a set on a 98 F-150 that barely made it over 1,000 miles before I had to replace them.

I know tires are expensive, but it really is better to get good ones and pay the little bit extra

I got over 30k from those Dunlop Mud Rovers. Most of that was wasted on the highway. I don't need anything special just something better than the stock racing slick BFG's I have now. This would be an extra set I can put on when I need to.

How about Mastercraft Courser CT tires? I'm thinking about getting a set. Any info?

I Would Stay Away From The Private Label Tires And Go With A National Brand. Many Friends Have Had Problems With These Tires.

when i priced out wheels and tires for my truck it was only $100 more to get 17 wheel and 35"s then to just get 35"s in 18's

mastercraft ct tires are good and you can get 40000 but they start to make more noise after they get wore in
