Ok, it's not a truck, but I had to share. This is my old pedal tractor that I got as a hand me down in the mid 70's. It's a Murray circa '68-71. I restored it for my 2 year old, for Christmas this year. Now to keep it hidden for 2 months from the nosey little dude. Took a bit of sandblasting, replaced some metal, and of course, all stainless steel hardware and new wheels. I also have some flame decals for it (just can't stomach $60 for the original decals knowing it's going to get beat up again). This was actually a fun little project!
That is very cool! Nice job on the resto, the little dude is going to love it.
I have a couple of old pedal car bodies that I have found over the years. Ones an old fire truck the other is a Desoto. I have them hanging in my garage as wall art.
Great story. We had a similar story this past August. My 35 y.o. son's tricycle from age two had been hanging in his Grand Dad's shed for the past 30+ years. So this past August his Grand Dad presented it repainted and looking new to his Great Grandson on his second birthday.
nice job!!! reminds me of the one i had in late 50's. now i have a 1955 jc higgins springer front end girls bike, all original and in very nice shape. it even has the streamers on the grips!
Thanks for the compliments. I applied some flame decals to the body and chain guard yesterday so now it's a hot-rod tractor. As much energy as my little guy has, he'll probably have it doing wheel stands. He's got an infatuation with tractors now, and we don't even live on a farm. I'm thinking this will be right up his alley.
Keep his interest going, tractors now and later it will be old trucks like his dad. You think he's going to be excited to get your old tractor just wait till he gets your old truck. Keep up the good work, Garry
