Stacks installed

I got my stacks installed on my truck the other night...thought I'd post up a couple pics and show them off a little

BTW, behind the downpipe I have a 4" "bullet" muffler and my hooker maximum flow, and these stacks are quite a bit louder than I expected them to be. I don't know how those guys with straight piped stacks can drive around like that.

I just noticed both stacks aren't rotated at quite the same angle. Now that's gonna bug the hell out of me.

Thumbs up

Nice stacks! Are they slitted in bed or under the truck? Doesn`t matter much with that box in the bed. I don`t like the visible split in the bed.

They're split in the bed, but I have it all painted black to make it a little less visible.

Really, it's just too hard to do the split under the bed.

Where did you pick up the stacks and how much did they run? Ive been planning to do this as soon as money allows.

I bought the stacks themselves from airflo.com.

I got a decent deal on them, as I tried to buy some that they had on special, but they only had one left...so they gave me these ones for $92 each, normally $100 each. I really wanted the ones that were on special- they were the same as these but 4' long instead of 3' (I planned to just trim them shorter) and were only $75 each. Ah well.

I built the splitter pipe myself, it's 4".

The only reason I really built it myself was because I found a really good deal on some 4" mandrel bends. You might be better off buying one of the stacks kits in the $300-400 range, because you spend nearly that much piecing everything together anyway.

Hint on stack rotation.

With the truck setting on a level place, sight across the back of the bed and the opening, pay attention to exactly where you were looking across.

Then move to the same location on the other side and repete.

On your truck I would use the tie down eye in the rear stake pockets on both sides as the rear sight point.

ghunt, really NICE job on the stacks. i looked at the pics a bunch and couldn't see the rotation you're talking about being off. personally, if someone came up and looked and made comments about them being different, i'd probably take tire tool to them. anywho, they look great. makes me want a set.

Looks to me like you were a bit to the side, slight angle and slight tilt with camera. Makes it look like the stacks aren't turned exactly alike.

I tried and tried to stand directly behind your truck but the picture frame kept trippin me up.8>)

They looked even when I installed them, but I was also doing it at 11 PM. I was trying to measure to marks and all this other stuff that wasn't really working.

I just happened to notice that when I was standing behind the truck and eyballing them, they appeared to be different...but it's probably barely noticeable.

Also, thanks guys

One thing to note, these were 3' stacks, and I cut 3" off the bottom of them so they wouldn't stick quite so far above my cab. I think they look just right at the height they are.
